Shooter Manu Bhaker seeks admission to DU

Commonwealth Games gold medallist Manu Bhaker has applied to Delhi University under the sports quota for admission to undergraduate courses.

The 17-year-old Haryana girl, who is a multiple ISSF World Cup gold medal winner and has also topped the podium in the Commonwealth Games and the Youth Olympics, will be eligible for direct admission and can choose the college and course of her choice, said an official.

Bhaker, who won the gold medal in the 10m air pistol competition at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, has uploaded her CWG certificate for admission to the university, the official added.

According to university guidelines, sportspersons who have represented India in competitions recognised and funded by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports will be given direct admission. — PTI
