Intensifying its activities regarding dengue prevention and treatment, the Mohali Health Department organised a rally to spread awareness in this regard here today.
Mohali Civil Surgeon Manjit Singh led the rally, which passed through local markets, including Phase 3B2 and Phase 7.
All senior medical officers and programme officers of the district, along with their teams, participated in the rally after the duty hours.
“The aim of the rally was to educate the shopkeepers and visitors to the markets about dengue and other vector-borne diseases so that they can take remedial measures on time and thus save their lives”, said Dr Manjit Singh.
Addressing the gathering during the rally, Dr Manjit Singh appealed to people to observe every Friday as dry day and solicited their cooperation to make the district dengue-free.
He said the department has been carrying out informative activities in the district for the past several weeks. During the rally, people were told about precautions to be taken. Participants were holding placards and banners on dengue prevention. Pamphlets were also distributed among shopkeeper in the markets.
