Top seed Aakarshit Mahajan stumbled on the final hurdle as he succumbed to practice partner and second seed Shrut Mohan Nargeta in the boys' U-18 summit in the CLTA-AITA Championship Series (CS-7) Tennis Tournament here today.
Nargeta won the first opening set 7-5, but Mahajan came back strongly to level the scores with an identical margin in the second set.
Nargeta, however, regained his composure to outplay Mahajan 6-3 in the decider and lift the boys' U-18 title.
Earlier, Chandigarh Academy for Rural Tennis (CHART) trainee and top seed Ajay Singh drubbed Sarabjot Singh 6-3 6-0 to clinch the boys' U-16 title.
The girls' U-16 title went to Nimrat Kaur Atwal after she upset second seed Kristi Boro of Assam 6-3 6-4.
Fifth seed Sanvi Ahluwalia of Delhi, meanwhile, stunned third seed Princy Panchal 6-4 6-3 to lift the girls' U-18 trophy.
