Shuttlers get ready for Asia Junior C’ship

CHANDIGARH:Ahead of their departure for the Asia Junior Badminton Championship in Suzhou, China, the Indian badminton team attended a practice session at the Sector 38 Sports Complex here on Saturday.

Ahead of their departure for the Asia Junior Badminton Championship in Suzhou, China, the Indian badminton team attended a practice session at the Sector 38 Sports Complex here on Saturday. The session was conducted by head coach Sanjay Mishra and manager Surinder Mahajan.

In the boys’ singles, the Indian team will be represented by Maisnam Meiraba, K Satish Kumar, Sidhant Gupta and Sankar Muthuswamy, while Ishan Bhatnagar and Vishnuvardhan Goud will spearhead the challenge in the boys’ doubles competition along with K Manjit Singh, Dingju Singh, PS Ravi Krishna and Manav Raj Smith. 

Malvika Bansode, Ashi Rawat, Samiya Imad Farooqui and Unnati Bishth will represent the country in the girls’ singles competition. Aditi Bhatt, Tanisha Crasto, Treesa Jolly, VS Varshini, Simran Singhi and Ritika Thakkar form the girls’ doubles team.

The mixed doubles team includes K Dingku Singh, Ritika Thakkar, K Manjit Singh, Riza Mahreen, Edwin Joy and Shruti Mishra. 

The Asia Junior Badminton Championship is scheduled to be held from July 20-28.
