Mohali, April 4
In the murder case of CTU employee Abhishek Guleria, Special Investigating Team (SIT) has initiated the process to seek details of Lt Col BS Sandhu’s (retd) bank accounts, linked with his PAN card.
The SIT would soon write to the Director General of Police (Intelligence) in this regard to get details in question from the Finance Investigation Unit.
“The objective behind the move is to keep a close vigil on transactions, if any, in the bank accounts of Sandhu,” said an official of the Mohali police here. The police have Sandhu’s PAN number, he said.
On Wednesday, the police also added one more Section of the IPC in the FIR in connection with Abhishek’s murder.
“We added Section 202 (intentional omission to give information of offence by person bound to inform) of the IPC in the FIR, which already has Sections 302, 201, 365 and 120-B of the IPC registered at Nayagaon police station”, said the official.
Now the police are also investigating the criminal background (if any) of Abhishek Guleria’s acquaintances, including a cousin, with whom he had consumed liquor on March 13. After partying with his acquaintances, Abhishek had gone missing and later his highly decomposed body was recovered from a deserted area along the Pinjore-Baddi road on March 24.
All acquaintances in question belong to Kangra district in HP, said the police.
