Six PU students clear all-India forensic exam
Chandigarh, October 3
Six students from the Institute of Forensic Science and Criminology, Panjab University, have qualified the Forensic Aptitude and Caliber Test (FACT), which was conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), for the first time in the country. It is All-India qualifying test.
The MHA has decided to conduct the test with an objective of benchmarking forensic science graduates and professionals. It is a screening test like the UGC-NET or GATE to test the comprehensive aptitude and skills of postgraduate students in the forensic science.
It was an online exam in forensic physics, forensic ballistics, forensic document examination, cyber forensics, forensic chemical sciences and forensic biological sciences.
The MHA says: “A list of qualified students will be made available to Central and state Forensic Science Laboratories (FSLs) which can utilise the services of these qualified professionals.” — TNS
