While the National Informatics Centre (NIC), which had conducted the e-auction, had uploaded the updated list of successful bidders two days later,

some applicants, who

were informed about the allotment of their choice number on email, are a confused lot.

One such applicant is Himmat Mohan Singh Ghuman, who has written a complaint to BL Sharma, Secretary, Transport, UT. In the complaint, Ghuman stated, “As per your email dated July 20, I was allotted the registration number ‘0011’ and was directed to pay the remaining bidding amount of Rs 9,000 to your office. When I visited the RLA office on Monday to submit my file, I was told that the number has been allotted to someone else and I have been allotted the number, ‘0101’.”

He claimed that his name had figured on the web portal (www.parivahan.gov.in/fancy/) as the successful bidder for ‘0011’ at a bidding amount of Rs 39,000 on July 20.

An RLA official, when contacted, said a technical error occurred on the day of the final result. The issue was immediately brought to the notice of the NIC, which corrected the list and the right list of successful candidates was uploaded on the site.

The RLA has also clarified on the website that the SMS and email of confirmation of assigned fancy/choice number sent to applicants on the same day of the e-auction was not the final result. It happened due to a technical problem.

However, the updated results had been uploaded on the Chandigarh Transport website.
