The Panchkula Municipal Corporation will soon set up an e-disha centre at the community centre of Sector 26, Panchkula, to facilitate the residents living in sectors across the Ghaggar

At present, residents of Sectors 23-32 travel to MC offices located in Sectors 4 and 14 to get their work done.

Dharam Singh Hira, president of the Resident Welfare Association (RWA), Sector 26, said on May 9, they had submitted a memorandum to the MC officials for setting up an e-disha centre at the community centre of Sector 26 till the construction of a permanent building. He said the site suits residents as Sector 26 was located in the middle of Sectors 23 to 32. He said a delegation had met the MC Commissioner and discussed the setting up of e-disha centre and covering of the soil at dumping ground.

MC commissioner-cum-administrator Rajesh Jogpal said they were considering this project as this was a long-pending demand of the residents of the area. He said the authorities would work on the project after the model code of conduct was lifted. He said there were around 32 public services, including marriage registration and house tax submission, which were available at e-disha centre, he added.
