Chandigarh, September 29 

Soulian Warriors, Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, Lawrence School, Sanawar, and Woodstock School, Mussoorie, reached the boys’ and girls’ semifinals on the second day of the Thakur Memorial Basketball Tournament at Sacred Souls’ School, Gharuan, today.

Satnam Singh Bhamra, the first Indian cager to be selected for the NBA, encouraged the participants and told them to remain focused.     

On the second day of the event, boys from Asian school, Dehradun, dominated DAV Ludhiana (60-36), while the girls from Lawrence School beat their Woodstock counterparts 50-41.

Woodstock boys registered a 55-25 win over Sri Guru Harkrishan Model School, Sector 38, while Guru Nanak girls thrashed Strawberry Fields 48-18.
