Sran takes charge as power corpn CMD

Er Baldev Singh Sran took charge as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) for a term of two years, here on Wednesday at the PSPCL headquarters.
Gurpreet Singh Kangar, Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy Sources, Punjab, was also present on the occasion.
Kangar said Sran would play a positive role for the smooth implementation of policies and programmes of the Punjab Government for the betterment of people and also make efforts in providing more services to consumers.
Preneet Kaur, Ex-Union Minister of state, while congratulating Sran, hoped that the PSPCL would achieve new heights under his command.
Sran said he was indebted to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Capt Amarinder Singh, and Power Minister Gurpreet Singh Kangar for assigning him an important responsibility of heading the PSPCL.
Hardial Singh Kamboj MLA, RP Pandove, director, administration, OP Garg, director, commercial, Jatinder Goyal, director, finance, and other senior officials of the PSPCL were among those present on the occasion.
Sran was born on February 7, 1960, and graduated from GNEC, Ludhiana, in BSc electrical engineering (honors).
He started his career as a trainee engineer at the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) in 1982 and joined the PSPCL, erstwhile PSEB, as a trainee engineer in 1983 and elevated to the level of Chief Engineer.
Sran served the PSPCL for more than 34 years in various important assignments. He has served for more than 19 years in generation, 6 years in transmission and 8 years in distribution in different capacities in the PSPCL.
