Members of the association met Director School Education (DSE) Rubinderjit Singh Brar over the issue.

On October 17, the Punjab Government had adopted a new leave policy under which teachers and employees working under the SSA are provided leaves similar to regular teachers working under the state budget. Male teachers are given 10 casual leaves up to service of 10 years, 15 leaves up to 15 years and 20 days per year after the completion of 20 years, whereas female teachers are given 20 casual leaves per year.

“We have quoted Section 20 of the non-negotiable central RTE rules which are automatically applicable to the UT, Chandigarh.
