Students of St Joseph’s School, Sector 44-D, celebrated Mother’s Day. Mothers of students were welcomed with handmade cards. Some games, such as musical chair, junk-the-trunk, tongue twisters and bursting-the-balloon, were organised. Principal Monica Chawla awarded the winners of the games.

PML SD Public, Chandigarh

An investiture ceremony was held at Pandit Mohal Lal SD Public School, Sector 32-C, with pomp and show. The selected cabinet members were conferred with badges and sashes. Devanshi and Yash Raj Sharma have been selected as the head girl and head boy. Principal Monica Sharma motivated them to perform their duties with sincerity. 

Brilliance World, Panchkula

A workshop to encourage adolescents and teenagers to participate in individual physical activities was organised at Brilliance World School. The workshop aimed at creating awareness about lifestyle diseases. 

St Xavier’s, Panchkula

 An informative talk on ‘Anxiety and depression among children’ was held for parents of senior students at St Xavier’s School, Panchkula. The talk was held by Dr Parneet Sidhu, counselling psychologist, Fortis Hospital.  Hardeep Singh, senior consultant, psychiatry, was also present. More than 90 parents attended the talk. 

St Teresa Convent

A special assembly was conducted at the school to mark Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti. Students were apprised of the life and teachings of Rabindranath Tagore. Students prepared an act on Kabuliwala, a short story by Tagore. 

Stepping Stones, Chandigarh

Rakshit Tandon, Investigation Adviser to the Cyber Crime Unit of the Uttar Pradesh Police at Agra, conducted a workshop on cyber crime and safety in the school. The workshop was conducted for students of Classes IX to XII to teach them the pros and cons of the usage of Internet and cyber safety. The workshop discussed some important issues such as fake profiles on social networking, defamatory posts, bullying on the internet and hacking. 

Govt Model, Mani Majra

Government Model Middle School, Mani Majra, organised a ‘nukkad natak’. Students of the primary wing have performed in surrounding areas of school to spread awareness among people about importance of vote in democracy.

SATLUJ PUBLIC SCHOOL, Panchkula

A special Mother’s Day assembly was held by Satluj Public School, Sector 4, Panchkula. The assembly started with a song performance followed by a speech by co-principal Madhurima Serai. 

Blue Bird High, Panchkula

Mother’s Day was celebrated at Blue Bird High School, Panchkula, with enthusiasm. A special assembly was organised and a speech was delivered, melodious songs in praise of mothers were sung and poems were recited. tns
