St Xavier’s, Strawberry cagers shine

Chandigarh, October 23

Hosts St Xavier's Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, registered a 22-8 win over St John's High School, Sector 26, to win the boys' U-12 title at the 19th Inter-School Basketball Tournament for the Emily Memorial Trophy, here today.

Yayin scored 10 points, while Kartik added four points to the St Xavier's tally. Edwin gathered four points for St John's School.

Saupin's School, Sector 32, finished third after they beat Ashiana Public School, Sector 46, 16-8 in the playoff. Jastej Singh accumulated eight points for Saupin's School, while Saket scored six points.

Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, meanwhile, won the competition in the boys' U-18 category. St Xavier's finished second, while St John's claimed the third position.

St John's overcame St Xavier's 54-50 in their last league match. Vaibhav alone scored 23 points for St John's, while Aryan added eight points to their tally. 

Strawberry Fields registered a 45-23 win over St Peter's School, Sector 37, to finish on a winning note. Vaibhav netted 23 points, while Mavnaya scored nine points for Strawberry Fields. Pawiter gather eight points for St Peter's School.
