Stinging satire on middle-class values

Actress Seema Pahwa presented her popular play ‘Saag Meat’ at the house of legendary theatre person Harpal Tiwana here yesterday. 

The actress also prepared ‘saag meat’ dish at the venue. The play is a satire on the middle-class values. A woman narrates the story of her domestic help while cooking saag meat. The narration also gives the audience a peak into her family life, her health issues and her love for diamonds.

Manpal Tiwana, creative director of the Harpal Tiwana Foundation, said she presented the play for the first time at their house in the city. The audience responded enthusiastically to the performance and everyone was treated with various food dishes.

Manpal Tiwana said it was a unique experiment in theatre where the invited audience savoured the food after the performance. He thanked Seema for her contribution. — TNS
