The Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted an induction publicity programme, ‘Disha’, in association with Dr Ganda Singh Career Guidance, Counselling and Placement Centre, Khalsa College, Patiala.
The IAF is organising these programmes in various parts of the country through ‘Disha’ to spread career- related information about the officers’ cadre in the IAF. Students were given information with the help of the induction publicity exhibition vehicle (IPEV), a Volvo bus equipped with a flight simulator and other gadgets.
College principal Dr Dharminder Singh Ubha welcomed dignitaries from the IAF and appreciated their efforts in making the students aware of their career in the IAF. He said the drive would prove to be a great opportunity in helping the students in building their future.
Anish Kohli, Wing Commander, Air Force Selection Board, Dehradun, at present working as a psychologist, told the students about professional challenges and promising job satisfaction in the IAF.
He added that the drive was flagged off from Delhi on August 23, 2017, and will continue till November 12, 2017. It will travel about 1,774 km, covering 19 cities, with a target to visit about 40 premiere educational institutions.
Dr Jasleen Kaur, co-ordinator, Dr. Ganda Singh Career Guidance, Counselling and Placement Centre thanked the dignitaries for selecting the college as one of the institutions under the programme.
She also congratulated them for initiating the motivational drive. Around 200 students participated in the drive.
Dr Gurmeet Singh, in-charge air-wing, NCC, Khalsa College, Patiala, was among those others present.
The drive proved to be beneficial for students interested in joining the IAF.
