Panchkula: Satluj Stunners Cricket Academy beat Satluj Achievers by five wickets to win the Satluj U-12 Invitational Cup Cricket Tournament here on Wednesday. Batting first, Achievers scored 116/9 in 30 overs. Captain Vividh Shehrawat made 35 runs, while Utsav added 28 runs to the total. Yatya Sharma claimed three wickets, while Aditya Nehra took two wickets. In reply, Stunners reached home with five wickets to spare. Yatya Sharma scored a brisk 32, while Parv contributed 30 runs to the chase. Shehrawat and Daivik claimed two wickets each. Yatya was named Man of the Match. He also received the Best Bowler award. Shehrawat was adjudged the Player of the Series, while Parv got the Best Batsman trophy. Prabal was adjudged the Best Fielder and Bhubhnesh the Best Wicketkeeper.  TNS

Punjab to host 3 athletics events  

Chandigarh: Punjab Athletics Association is set to host the Indian Grand Prix - 1 and 3, besides the Federation Cup Senior National Championship. While Grand Prix - 1 is scheduled to be held at Patiala from February 23, Grand Prix - 3 will be held at Sangrur from March 2. The Federation Cup will be held at Patiala from March 15-18, the sports body said here on Wednesday. TNS

Iknoor, Kritagya clinch gold

Chandigarh:  Iknoor Kaur raced to 70m gold during the annual athletics meet of St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, here on Wednesday. The boys’ competition was dominated by Kritagya Manrao. Anandi Rana and Raj Yadav clinched a gold medal each in the girls’ and boys’ 90m race. In 100m dash, Harleen Kaur topped the girls’ category, while Simon Thanakorn dominated the field in the boys’ category. Navjot Kaur won a gold medal in the girls’ 300m and Harmannjeet Singh shone in the boys’ 400m race. Arpit Kapoor won the gold medal in the boys’ long jump. TNS
