Swachhata app launched

During the ongoing seven-day NSS camp, the Swachhata - MoHUA, an official app of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), was launched at Panjab University.

Jitender Yadav, Commissioner MCC-cum-Mission Director, Swachh Bharart Abhiyaan, launched the app. While addressing the audience, he said that it was a complaint redressal platform with the opportunity for citizens to post a civic-related issue which was then forwarded to the city corporation concerned and thereafter assigned to the sanitary inspector of the particular ward. The citizens could upload the complaints with or without photographs and share them with other citizens and also commented on the work being done. 

This application is available for all the 4,041 towns and cities of India.

He also shared that the commuters using the parking lots of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh (MCC) would be able to access free parking by showing “Swachhata MoHUA app” in their mobile phones from December 27 to the New Year eve.

 During this event, the Municipal Commissioner also answered the queries asked by the NSS volunteers. He also appealed that “we all have to collectively fight this menace and make our country clean and green”. He also highlighted the importance of work and urged all the volunteers to pay respect to all those who are engaged in the business of cleanliness because these people are the real heroes.

On this occasion, Registrar Col GS Chadha (retd), Prof Seema Kapoor, coordinator, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Dr Parminder Singh, Director, Sports, were also present.

All the guests were presented with saplings and jute folders by the NSS programme officers. Dr Navdeep Sharma thanked all the volunteers and the team of programme officers for conducting the event and urged all the volunteers to come forward and start using this Swachhta app more frequently and share it other community members to make it a great success.
