The first-ever three-day Jammu and Kashmir theatre festival organised by the North Zone Cultural Centre, in collaboration with the Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi, opened to a grand start at Tagore Theatre here on Wednesday.

The event began with a patriotic musical play ‘Gagan Damama Bajyo’ by the Nritya Natya Kunj Cultural Society. Written by Piyush Mishra and directed by Abhishek Bharti, the play reflected on various dimensions of life and ideology of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

The play filled the stage with thrilling actions while the background music, songs and dances depicted the celebration of life by people even when subjected to the British tyranny.

Chief guest Ajay Singhal, Director, Haryana Kala Parishad, and CSNA chairman Kamal Arora honored the artistes.
