Chandigarh: The women and child support unit of the Chandigarh Police organised SWAYAM, a self-defense training programme for women/girls of the city in order to make them capable of facing any untoward incident from May 30 to July 2 in two batches. A total of 250 women or girls in the age group of 5 to 54 participated in the programme. The concluding function was held on Wednesday, in which Tajender Singh Luthra, DGP, Chandigarh, was the chief guest. The participants of the programme demonstrated self-defence techniques, presented a skit on sexual harassment at workplace. The DGP, Chandigarh, also distributed certificate among those who participated in the self-defence training programme. — TNS
