Truck cleaner killed in freak accident

Chandigarh, June 30

A truck cleaner, who was sleeping under the truck, was killed when the driver, unaware of the fact, drove the vehicle at the grain market in Sector 26 this morning. According to the police, the victim, identified as Narinder, a resident of Chamoli district in Uttarakhand, was crushed under the wheels of the truck when the driver, Garish Kumar, was reversing the truck. The victim was the cleaner of the same truck.

The duo had come to deliver some goods at the grain market. The victim was rushed to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, where doctors declared him brought dead.

A case against the truck driver has been registered at the Sector 26 police station. He was arrested and later released on bail. The truck has been impounded by the police.
