Chandigarh, October 28 

Akshat Dhull humbled Devpratap Sandhu in the boys’ U-12 final before edging out Pragun Thakur in the U-14 summit clash to clinch twin titles on the concluding day of the Ideal Tennis Academy’s Talent Hunt Tournament at the Panjab University campus here today.

Dhull registered a 6-3 win over Sandhu, while he downed Thakur 6-2.

Earlier in the boys’ U-12 semifinals, Dhull blanked Trishubh 6-0, while Sandhu drubbed Gaurish Madaan 6-1.

In the boys’ U-14 competition, Dhull trounced Aryan Jolly 6-3 in the semifinals, while Thakur beat Keshav Singh with an identical margin.

Akshita shines 

Akshita Vashisht overcame Gurnaaz Toor 6-5(1) to claim the girls’ U-12 title. 

In the semifinals, Akshita registered a 6-2 win over Reet Arora, while Gurnaaz ousted Rhosyn William 6-3.

In the girl’s U-14 competition, Akshita thumped Antara Panwar 6-4.

Meanwhile, Akshit Dhull and Hridya Pandey drubbed Akshita and Mehakpreet Kaur 6-1 to win the U-14 combined doubles competition.
