Mohali: Jasparwaz Singh and Paakhi Gupta of Oakridge International School won the Best Performers award in the boys' and girls' U-9 categories, respectively, during the Punjab State Yoga and Artistic Yoga Championship held at Ferozepur. The boys' team of the school — Angad, Abhimanyu, Abhiyodit, Jasperwaz, Gautam, and Nouman — also claimed a silver medal. Kashish, Sneha, Virajdeep, Paakhi, Tanvi and Saba Singh finished second in the girls' team championship. — TNS

Panchkula: Professional India defeated Azzaro XI by 35 runs in a rain-truncated match in the ongoing 8th Challenger Corporate Trophy here on Tuesday. Batting first, Professional India scored 203/8 in 20 overs with Sunny smashing a 44-ball 78. Ashish Rana blasted 61 off 34 balls. For the bowling side, Akash Pal claimed 3/33, while Praveen took 2/32. In reply, Azzaro XI were struggling at 97/6 in 13 overs when the rain stopped the play. The match was awarded to Professional India on the basis of D/L method. Kapil (30) was the top scorer for Azzaro XI, while Mayank contributed 24runs to the chase. Amit Verma (2/23) and Ramesh (2/15) claimed two wickets each for Professional India. — TNS
Netball c’ship from tomorrow
Chandigarh: Netball Association of Chandigarh will organise the State Netball Championship for the third CL DAV Netball Trophy from May 18. The two-day event will be held at CL DAV Model School, Sector 7, the organisers said here on Wednesday. Players born on or after April 1, 2005, will be eligible to participate in the competition. The interested teams can submit their entries — verified by respective principals — at the tournament venue before 1 pm on Thursday. — TNS
