Chandigarh, July 14
A team of six students from the UIET, Panjab University, has won the first prize in the Smart India Hackathon 2019- Hardware Edition held at IIT-Hyderabad from July 8 to July 12. The team was given the problem of preventing accidents such as sudden increase in temperature, pressure, vibration and noise in industries by Kokuyo Camlin. Solution involved using real-time monitoring, tracking dashboard, predicting critical situations and taking automated control measures. The team was declared the winner of the five-day finals at IIT-Hyderabad after clearing the idea round, the prototyping round and the finale. They were awarded a prize of Rs 50,000.
The team comprised Akshay Kumar, Bipin Kumar , Charvi Mendiratta, Dhawal Sharda, Sagar Kalra , Rahul Bafila . Mayur Vashishth and Pranav Kumar were their mentors. — TNS
