UILS team shines at mediation competition

Chandigarh, April 3

A team comprising three students — Udai Nanda (I year), Aryaman Thakur (II year) and Arpit Malhotra of (III year) — represented the department at a national-level mediation and negotiation competition held at the University Institute of Laws, Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana.

The team went through preliminary, semi-final and final round to compete against several colleges, including Christ University, Bangalore, UPES, Dehradun, and MNLU, Nagpur, and bagged the prize of the overall second-best team. Udai and Arpit won Rs 1,000 in individual rounds and they were also adjudged the best negotiating team — winning Rs 8,000. Aryaman won the second-best mediator with a prize of Rs 2,000.


INSTITUTE placement drive on April 6 and 7

Chandigarh: The University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), PU, is gearing up for its annual placement drive to be held on April 6 and 7. A number of renowned law firms, senior advocates and companies from the tricity will be part of the drive. A Chandigarh-based IT company dealing with legal process outsourcing services, Aeren IT Solutions Private Limited, came to the department on April 3 for hiring students. The recruitment process included a written test which was conducted on the UILS campus and interviews will be conducted at the company’s office in IT Park, Chandigarh. Around 40 students took the test. The placement drive is being organised by the Career Development Cell of the UILS.
