UNDERPASS: Road to remain closed for 3 months

CHANDIGARH: With the UT Administration all set to start construction work on the first phase of the pedestrian underpass between Sector 17 and Rose Garden, the service lane and the main carriageway behind the RBI and the James Plaza hotel on Jan Marg from Matka Chowk to the Sector 16/17 light point will be closed for traffic for three months from December 1.

Chandigarh: With the UT Administration all set to start construction work on the first phase of the pedestrian underpass between Sector 17 and Rose Garden, the service lane and the main carriageway behind the RBI and the James Plaza hotel on Jan Marg from Matka Chowk to the Sector 16/17 light point will be closed for traffic for three months from December 1. The construction work on the pedestrian underpass will be undertaken in two phases. The underpass will be constructed by excavating the carriageway. The work will be undertaken by closing the road partially. Road users are advised to use alternative routes and diversions set by the traffic police during this period. In the second phase, the main carriageway towards Rose Garden will be closed. TNS
