A closed circuit TV camera (CCTV) footage of a shopkeeper being thrashed by five men has gone viral in the city. The video dates back to September 12.
A city resident Prateek, who owns a grocery shop at Jagadhri Gate, was thrashed by the accused over an old enmity.
In his complaint to the police on September 13, Prateek stated that he was about to shut his shop when the accused reached there with iron rods and started thrashing him. The victim sustained injuries on the arms and legs.
A case was registered under Sections 323, 325, 34 and 506 of the IPC against the accused at the Ambala City police station.
The police arrested two accused Kanwarjeet and Waris, while Ashu, Kaka and one another person was yet to be nabbed.
“Two accused have already been arrested. Efforts are on to nab the remaining three accused,” said Chander Mohan, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Ambala.
