Patiala, July 24
With the rising threat of dengue in the region, officials of the Municipal Corporation (MC) have started ward-wise awareness drives across the city.
Municipal Corporation Mayor Sanjeev Kumar Sharma held a dengue awareness drive in his ward today. Officials of the corporation also found dengue larvae from more than 50 houses in the Mayor’s ward. The Mayor advised people not to store discarded material on the roofs of their houses to avoid accumulation of rainwater.
The officials pointed out that the anti-larvae team of the Health Department needs to pull up its socks to make sure that the larvae does not get produced in vessels and discarded tyres in houses.
The Mayor said a drive will be launched in all wards of the city under the leadership of all municipal councillors.
He said, “We will conduct fogging in all areas. Also, the drive in my ward will continue for seven days.”
