Will not allow shifting of govt school’s primary wing: Bir Devinder
Kharar, September 12
Former Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Bir Devinder Singh on Wednesday said the School Education Department had attempted to shift the primary wing of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Kharar. He said the department tried to disturb the current arrangement under the Systemic Rearrangement Plan of Schools.
While addressing a press conference here, he said the primary wing would not be allowed to be shifted at any cost.
“When I was Kharar MLA, I had to struggle hard to bring this school into existence. It started functioning on April 1, 2004,” said Bir Devinder.
On the occasion, he visited the school and interacted with teachers and students.
He said more than 1,500 students were taking education in the school and every year, school students made to the merit list. The former Vidhan Sabha Speaker said he would never allow the Education Department to shift the primary wing of the school.— OC
