Chandigarh, July 31
A woman, in her early 20s, reportedly committed suicide by jumping into Sukhna Lake here on Tuesday.
The police said they got information that a woman had jumped into the lake near the stairs number 7. A team was rushed to the spot and the woman brought out of the lake with the help of a youth, identified as Afjal, a resident of Sector 56. She was rushed to the PGI where doctors declared her brought dead.
The police said the victim, who could not be identified yet, appeared to be around 24 years of age.
The police have ruled out any foul play in the incident and stated there was no injury mark on the body.
