Woman peddler gets two-yr jail

Mohali, November 21

A local court today awarded two-year jail term to a woman drug peddler from whom the police had recovered 100-gm heroin. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the convict, Balbir Kaur, a resident of Barnala.

Balbir Kaur was arrested by STF sleuths when she was on her way to Mohali in a bus to supply the drug to her customers. Then, Balbir Kaur was facing four more drug cases at police stations in Barnala and Sangrur. Her husband Kartar Singh was lodged in a jail at Barnala in a case under the NDPS Act. — TNS
