Woman run over by PRTC bus, dies

PATIALA:An old woman was killed after allegedly being run over by a PRTC bus near the city bus stand on Friday.



Patiala, April 19

An old woman was killed after allegedly being run over by a PRTC bus near the city bus stand on Friday. 

The deceased has been identified as Swarn Kaur, a local resident. 

Khalil Khan, a police officer from Lahori gate police station said, “The accident occurred as the woman was reportedly hit by the PRTC bus. At present, the reason behind her death is not clear. The bus driver and conductor claim that the victim fell by herself and was not killed due to impact of the bus.”

He said there was no trace of bleeding from the deceased’s body. 

The police officials said the post-mortem would be conducted on Saturday.  

They said no case has been registered against the bus driver and conductor. However, the duo along with the bus were in the police custody. TNS
