First hands-on workshop on temporal bone dissection was conducted by the Department of ENT in association with the Department of Anatomy at the Government Medical College, Patiala. Padma Shri recipient Dr Mohan Kameswaran, a renowned ENT surgeon from Chennai, was the guest faculty at the inaugural ceremony.
The chief guest on the occasion was Dr Avnish Kumar, Director, Research and Medical Education, Punjab. More than 80 delegates from different parts of Punjab and Haryana participated in the workshop. Dr Mohan Kameswaran spoke on the importance of these sessions for updating the knowledge of doctors. Dr Sanjeev Bhagat emphasised the need for temporal bone dissection in learning various ear surgeries, including cochlear implants. This workshop included a live temporal bone dissection session by Dr Mohan Kameswaran.
Under the guidance of the senior faculty, 16 delegates from Punjab and Haryana had hands-on training on various aspects of temporal bone dissection. The activity concluded with a valedictory function. Dr Dinesh Kumar Sharma proposed a vote of thanks on behalf of the organising committee.
