To bring forth the vision of systematic improvement in teaching English in government schools and improving the academic performance of students in the state, a three-day workshop, ‘Professional development of English teachers’, was hosted by the Haryana School Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad at Shiksha Sadan.
Dr Rakesh Gupta, State Project Director, Haryana School Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad, inaugurated the workshop. He said the programme was implemented successfully during 2018-19 in districts of the state for improving the professional accomplishment of identified low-performing teachers. He said training was given to them by those whose students had performed exemplary well in the board results. Based on the success of the programme, the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development recommended the same for 4,180 English teachers.
To initiate the 2019-20 programme, he motivated master trainers from across the state and launched the Saksham-Plus Module as a helping tool for them to impart subject-specific training.
One of the master trainers talked about how language is acquired and how it can flourish in the classroom. He said the programme aimed at encouraging the educators to bring innovation in teaching-learning process.
