Yoga, music relieve stress, says doctor

International Yoga Day and World Music Day were celebrated at Rayat Bahra University here today.
The programme was organised in association with Dr Deepak Puri, a senior cardiologist at Ivy Hospital. Dr Daljit Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Rayat Bahra University, along with students and faculty, attended the programme.
Interactive sessions on ‘Impact of lifestyle diseases and easy way to prevent them’ by Dr Puri, ‘benefits of music therapy’ by Dr Neena Mehta and yoga sessions by yoga expert Tatiana were held.
Dr Puri highlighted that yoga and music can play a major role in relieving stress and generating positive environment. “Yoga can help in preventing several lifestyle diseases such as heart attacks, high blood pressure, depression, cancers backache and joint problems,” he said.
