Youth dies in road accident

A youth died in a road accident in Chikan village, Pinjore, today. The deceased has been identified as Akhtar (17), a resident of Islamnagar.

According to police officials, Ilamdeen, who was present on the spot, said the deceased was sitting on a tractor with Hardeep on the driver’s seat, also a resident of Islamnagar, coming from Divanwala towards Chikan with a water tanker attacked to the tractor behind it.

As soon as the said tractor reached Government School in Chikan village, the tractor bounced upwards due to the speed breaker following which Akhtar fell on the road and got caught between the tyre of the tractor and the water tanker.

Akhtar was taken to the CHC, Kalka, where doctors declared him brough dead.

Station in-charge Yashdeep said that the police had registered a case and started investigation into the matter.
