Youth’s body found floating in Sukhna

Evening walkers at Sukhna Lake were in for a shock when they saw the body of a youth floating on Friday evening. The police suspect it to be a case of suicide. However, no suicide note was found from the spot.

Sources said visitors, who were having a walk, noticed the body floating near the stairs (No. 3 ) at the lake after which the police were informed. The police brought the body out and shifted it to the mortuary at Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16. The victim appears to be in his mid-20s.

The police said the victim was wearing 10 jackets at the time of the incident. The police searched all jackets, but no identity card or document was found which could help them identify the victim.

Inquest proceedings have been initiated at the Sector 3 police station. The police said efforts were being made to identify the victim.

Man found dead at Sector 38 park

The body of a man was found at a park in Sector 38 on Friday evening. The police said there were no injury marks on the body. Passersby saw the body  after which the police were informed. The body was shifted to the mortuary at the GMSH, Sector 16. The victim has been identified as Mahi Lal, a native of Bihar. He used to sleep on the roadside. The police have ruled out any foul play.
