YPS, Sainik School enter quarters

Sainik School, Goalpara, drubbed Mayo College, Ajmer, 6-1 to win their second successive match in Pool A and booked a place in the quarterfinals of the IPSC Football Tournament at Yadavindra Public School grounds here today.
Mayo College though registered a 4-0 win over Genesis Global School, Noida, in their second match of the day to secure a place in the last-eight.
Modern School, New Delhi, blanked Pinegrove School, Subathu, 3-0 to lead Pool B with two win from as many matches.
Earlier, Daly College, Indore, registered a 5-0 win over Pinegrove School to occupy the second spot.
The top-two teams from each pool make it to the quarterfinals.
In Pool C, BK Birla Centre of Education, Pune, who lost their opening match to the hosts Yadavindra Public School (YPS) yesterday, thrashed Birla Public School, Pilani, 7-1 to seal a place in the quarters.
Though the Pilani outfit held the hosts to a 2-2 draw in their second match of the day, they could not make it to the last-eight stage of the championship.
Lawrence School, Sanawar, and Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai, qualified for the quarterfinals from Pool D.
Lawrence School steamrolled Punjab Public School, Nabha, 10-0, but lost 0-2 to MNSS today.
In the remaining Pool D match, Raj Kumar College, Raipur, defeated Punjab Public School, Nabha, 5-0.
