Zambian I-Day celebrated at Rayat Bahra

H Sikapale Chinzewe, Deputy High Commissioner of the Republic of Zambia, was in the city yesterday evening to attend an event to mark Independence Day of Zambia at Rayat Bahra University.

Chinzewe said on this day in 1964, the British colony of Northern Rhodesia became the independent Republic of Zambia, after decades of nationalist struggle. He lauded the services being rendered by Rayat Bahra University. He the university had carved a niche for itself in the world of academics. Students from Lovely Professional University, CT Group of Institutions, CT University, Chandigarh University, and Maharishi Markandeshwar University, participated in the event. — TNS
