Christ was a ‘Tamil Hindu’

A controversial book penned by brother of Hindutva ideologue VD Savarkar, claiming Jesus Christ was a Tamil Hindu, is being re-launched 70 years after it was first published. The book, penned by Ganesh Savarkar, will be re-launched on February 26, the death anniversary of the Hindutva icon. The book, Christ Parichay, also claims that Christianity was initially a Hindu cult and that Jesus died in Kashmir. PTI

PRI polls: Cong ahead of BJP

Ruling Congress was on Tuesday ahead of the BJP in the Taluk Panchayat and Zila Panchayat elections in Karnataka as the two parties were locked in a keen contest. The two-phased elections were held on February 13 and 20 and the counting of votes is underway. Of the 1,083 zila panchayat seats, results have been declared for 913 so far and Congress has bagged 428 of them. PTI
