Climber awaits sponsorship for Everest

After hoisting the Indian flag on the highest peak of Europe, Mount Elbrus, Japneet Kaur, a Mohali girl living in Ambala City, has set her eyes on Mount Everest.
Since climbing Mt Everest is a costly affair, the mountaineer is upset as she needed private or government sponsorship and nobody has come forward to provide her financial support.
She said she had to deposit Rs 7 lakh with the Nepal Government as permit and liaison charges by January end, but she failed.
Japneet said she had been trying to get an appointment with Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for the last three months through various sources, but she could not get it.
Japneet has done an advanced course from the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering in Jammu and Kashmir, was selected by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation for the Stok Kangiri expedition.
