Shimla: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur launched the title page of ‘Brahma Bodhi’, a multi-lingual magazine on art and culture published by the Brahmnaad Cultural Society here on Monday. Mercury dips in Shimla, Kufri
Moderate to heavy rain occurred at many places in Himachal, causing a marginal drop in the day temperature, which stayed higher in the tribal areas as compared to Shimla and Kufri.. The local Met office has warned of heavy rain in the lower and middle hills tomorrow and predicted rain and thunderstorm at many places in the middle and lower hills; rain and thunderstorm at a few places in the higher hills from August 13 to August 18. The day temperature dropped by a few notches and Shimla and Kufri recorded 22.9°C and 16.3°C , while Keylong and Kalpa in tribal Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur districts were warmer with a high of 24.0°C and 24.6 °C. Una was the hottest at 31.6°C. Nagrota Suriyan was the wettest in the region with 58-mm rain, while Dharamsala and Guler recorded 56 mm and 55 mm rain. Moderate to heavy rain at many places has reduced the monsoon rain and deficit from 45 per cent to 25 per cent as average rainfall during this period was 367.7 mm against the normal rainfall of 493.1 mm.
