NSS unit organises ‘SAMARPAN 2017’
Ludhiana:The NSS Unit of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management organised a thanks-giving event, ‘SAMARPAN 2017’, for the college sub-staff and members of their family. Director Education, Brigadier HS Bhandal and Principal RL Behl attended the function and addressed the sub-staff by giving a vote of thanks for their selfless services to college. Bus drivers, security guards, gardeners and house-keeping staff, along with their wives, husbands and children, were honoured. The function was organised under the guidance of Prof Meenu Goyal and Prof Jai Parkash and by NSS core team members —Tanusha Arora, Shagun Bharti, Himanshu Garg, Abheeti, Chahat, Ishpreet,Arshdeep Singh, Jashan Grewal and Simran Pandher. NSS volunteers — Vrinda Gupta, Tanusha, Shagun, Abheeti, Rattandeep — donated gifts in cash and kind for sub-staff members. Sub-staff showcased their singing and dancing talents and played various game.
Weightlifting contest
Three students of the Government College for Girls, Ludhiana, participated in the Panjab University Inter-College Weightlifting Competition held at Gobind Public College, Alour. Suman (BA-III), Laxmi (BSc I) and Sheena (BA III) participated in the 48kg, 53 kg and 90 kg category, respectively. Suman and Laxmi got silver medals. Coach S Harbans Singh, SAI Centre, Ludhiana trained the students. The college Principal (additional charge) Dharam Singh Sandhu and vice-principal-cum-) Sharanjit Kaur congratulated the players. — TNS
