As many as 1,378 nominations have been filed till yesterday, the fourth day of filing of nomination papers, to contest elections to 15 Municipal Councils and 28 Municipal Committees as well as by-elections in the state.
Haryana State Election Commissioner Rajeev Sharma said 793 nominations were filed for the elections to the Municipal Councils. These included 41 nominations for Charkhi Dadri, 33 for Fatehabad, 53 for Tohana, 68 for Hansi, 23 for Sohna, 107 for Jind, 48 for Narwana, 88 for Bahadurgarh, 42 for Kaithal, 82 for Thanesar, 43 for Narnaul, 79 for Palwal, 44 for Hodal, nine for Mandi Dabwali and 33 for Gohana.
He said 579 nominations were filed for the elections to Municipal Committees. These included 25 for Naraingarh, 19 for Ratia, 31 for Bhuna, 39 for Barwala, 20 for Jhajjar, 34 for Safidon, 10 each for Uchana and Rajound, 21 for Cheeka, 26 each for Gharunda and Taraori, 18 for Assandh, eight for Nissing, 35 for Shahbad, 17 for Ladwa and 25 for Pehowa.— TNS
