Eighteen Zila Parishad members, 138 panchayat samiti members and 258 village panchayats will be elected by 5,07,291 voters in Fatehabad district in elections to the panchayati raj institutions (PRIs) when the rural voters go to the polls in three phases from October 4.
Fatehabad district has six Panchayat Samitis -- Fatehabad, Ratia, Bhattu, Bhuna, Tohana and Jakhal-- for which a total of 138 members are to be elected.
Fatehabad Zila Parishad has 18 wards of which seven (1, 2, 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14) have been reserved for men (general category), Deputy Commissioner NK Solanki said. Four wards ( 3, 4, 5 and 15) had been reserved for women (general category), ward 8, 10, 16 and 17 for men (Scheduled Castes), ward 9 and 18 for women (SC) while ward 11 is reserved for Backward Classes (BC).
Among the block samitis, 30 members each are to be elected from Fatehabad and Ratia blocks, 25 from Tohana block, 21 from Bhattu, 20 from Bhuna and 12 from Jakhal.
