Chandigarh, July 18

MP Kirron Kher inaugurated a two-day Mango Mela here today. The fair is being organised by the Municipal Corporation (MC) at Fragrance Garden in Sector 36.

The mela received an encouraging response as visitors were found checking new varieties of mangos. The varieties that attracted the visitors were gulab zamun, malika, amarpali and ramkela.

32 varieties of fruit on display

MC Chief Engineer Mukesh Anand said the first Mango Mela had got 202 entries from mango growers and the new attractions introduced for the edition have been well received by visitors. He said a total of 32 varieties were on display at the fair.
