For Sandeep, who has done MBA after BTech, it was the fourth attempt and he stood 252. Last time, he made it to the IRS. His elder brother and a prominent physician from Sirsa, Dr RK Mehta, said they knew he would make it to the IAS this time.

With 319th rank, Dr Ish Gupta is hopeful of making it to the IPS or IRS.

“I will try again next time because my aim is to get into administrative services,” he said.
