2 students hurt as auto hits tree

Two school students were injured after the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in went out of control and hit a tree in Sector 28 this afternoon. Five students of a government school were in the auto at the time of the incident.

Sources said the auto-rickshaw was being driven rashly that led to the accident. The injured students were rushed to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16. All students were residents of Dariya near the Industrial Area, Phase I.

The police said the parents of the students did not lodge any complaint against the auto driver, who was known to them.

A DDR was lodged at the Sector 26 police station.
