National Institute of Technology (NIT), Srinagar, today inaugurated this year’s edition of its annual technical festival — Techvaganza — here.
An organiser of the event said the four-day-long extravaganza comprised workshops, events and other fun events.
The workshops held today included IBM Industry Oriented Programme, Innovation by Young, Python Programming and DRDO Workshop on Big Voice Data.
The Civil Engineering Department of the institute, during the day, held events on Trust Thy Bridge, Estimator, Modship, Rock-it-Up, Junkyard and Robothon.
Apart from these, several non-technical events such as Clash of Cannon, Rangreza — The Painting Competition and Bull’s eye were also held.
Padma Shri recipient Dr Srikumar Banerjee was the chief guest on the occasion.
Other dignitaries who were present at the Techvaganza included Vice Chancellor Kashmir University Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi, Dr U Chatterjee from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and Director, National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chandigarh, MP Poonia.
Students from SSM College, Islamic University of Science and Technology, Kashmir University, NILIT, GWPS, SP College, Mumbai University, Women Polytechnic, Government Degree College, Pulwama College of Engineering, KGP and MAI among others participated in various events.
Popular food joint Kathi Junction, Sarah City Centre was the “food partner” for the event.
Techvaganza 2015 programmes will end with a laser show and valedictory function on May 25.
