In the ongoing recruitment rally for the Territorial Army here in which aspirants from Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir took part, 578 candidates out of a total of 6,400 cleared the physical test.
Now, these candidates will undergo medical test, including dope testing, following which their final interview will decide the 14 candidates who will don battle fatigues.
The recruitment is being held for the post of 11 soldiers (general duty), soldier clerk, soldier washerman and soldier chef community — one post each. The tests include physical fitness tests — one-mile run, pull-ups, balance, nine-feet ditch, and height-weight measurement.
As per the Army officials, 3,000 candidates from Punjab appeared for the test of which 325 cleared the physical. From Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, 900 appeared, of which 99 cleared the physical. From Haryana and Delhi, 154 out of 2,500 cleared the test.
