Chandigarh, October 22

City-based music maestro Subhash Ghosh delivered an enthralling spell of classical  recital on swar ragini in a concert organised by  the Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi (CSNA) at Tagore Theatre here today. Subhash   Ghosh, a foremost disciple of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, has created  two musical instruments sarasvani and swar ragini by making changes in a Hawain guitar.

Ghosh commenced the recital with  an alaap and jod alaap of the Raga Bageshwari. He presented a fast-paced composition in jhaptal followed by a medium  laya gat in teental besides two compositions in fast pace (dhrut laya) set to ektal and teental. He presented soulful kaushiki dhun before  concluding  the recital with a jazz fusion gat.

Ghosh gave adequate opportunity to  Mehmood Khan and Avirbhav Verma on Tablas  by engaging them in entrancing Jugalbandis.   Manish Kumar and Abha Rana also accompanied him. Anurag Aggarwal, Secretary, Home and Culture, was the chief guest.
